Bred by Geoffrey & Jennifer Porges of J & G Pastoral/Trinity Stockhorses, this lovely mare has had a steady and well-rounded start to life. She was originally broken in by Dan Steers, who prepared her for the 2022 Toowoomba Nutrien Sale. It was there that she was purchased by Darren and Angie Seibel of Goodwood Equine.
Angie continued her early training, and the mare also spent valuable time with Dan Lithgow, giving her a strong and versatile foundation.
She carries an eye-catching pedigree, being sired by Cat N A Hat and out of Yulgilbar Playgirls Jess, who was a mare sired by Playboy Roy, bred by the renowned Yulgilbar Quarter Horse Stud. Playboy Roy was a stallion well known for producing exceptional-performing mare lines, and his influence continues to be seen in top-level performance horses across the country.
After closely following the early journey of Trinity Catcanplay, Debra Austin purchased her following the 2024 Toowoomba sale. Debra had been away playing polocrosse in Warwick, so it was a stroke of luck that the mare was passed in for $45,000, allowing the opportunity to secure her afterwards.
She stayed on with Dan Lithgow for a bit longer to continue her education and gain a little more exposure. During that time, she had a four exceptional rounds in the 2024 Cloncurry Stockman's Challenge Classic, resulting as the 2024 Classic Challenge Champion. Following that, she quietly put together some nice results, including making the finals in both the Supreme 5 & Under Challenge and Campdraft at the 2024 Toowoomba Nutrien as well as 5th place in the Under 5 Draft at Gidgeefield. In 2025, she added a Derby Challenge win at Coonamble to her record and placed 5th again in the 5 & Under Challenge at Toowoomba.
“It’s been rewarding to see her progress and handle different environments so well, a credit to her pedigree and consistent training she’s had along the way.” - Deb
She’s now home with Debra and her two daughters, who look forward to continuing her journey in the campdraft and challenge arenas. There are hopes to begin her breeding career soon as well. Unfortunately, her recip lost this year’s foal, but the family is hopeful for what's ahead with this special mare.
