BACKGROUND STORY
Born and raised in Taroom, QLD, One Time Design was bred by Simone Laidely, pairing Tassas Jay Jay with American NCHA Futurity Champion, One Time Royalty. He was started as a two-year-old by Cody Huff in Narrabri, NSW, followed by work life mustering in the cold country of Walcha, NSW.
He began his career in the cutting arena, completing a two-year-old training program under Isaac Westerhuis. His first major competition was the 2023 Tamworth NCHA Cutting Futurity, where he placed 5th in the Open Futurity Limited Final. Later that year, he competed at the Goondiwindi Cotton Country $15,000 Novice, where he finished as Reserve Champion.
In early 2024, One Time Design transitioned into the challenge discipline with trainer Darrin Jones. He adjusted quickly to the change, and soon after, he placed Reserve Champion in the 2024 ARBC Classic Challenge. Throughout the year, he continued to put in consistent performances across multiple events.
With a solid foundation in both cutting and challenge events, One Time Design continues to develop and prove himself as an exceptional athlete, demonstrating heart, talent, and versatility.
